Sara Jayousi received her M.S. degree in Telecommunications Engineering in 2008 and her Ph.D. degree in “Computer Science, Multimedia and Telecommunications” in 2012 from the University of Florence, Italy. Her research activity is mainly focused on: cooperative communications, relaying systems, diversity algorithms, hybrid satellite/terrestrial networks and IP QoS and Security management in heterogeneous network architectures. She was involved in the following national and European research projects: SALICE (Satellite-Assisted LocalIzation and Communication systems for Emergency services)  and STEEL (Systems, Technologies & mEthods for distance learning) funded by the MIUR (Ministry of  Education, University and Research) and TESHEALTH (Telemedicine services for HEALTH)  funded by the European Space Agency (ESA).
