Giulia Bertazzini was born in Florence, on 19th May 1998. Always fascinated by the forensic world, in 2023 she graduated in Computer Engineering from the University of Florence, with a grade of 110/110 cum laude, presenting her master thesis on “A codec-based approach for video life-cycle characterization”. This thesis was also awarded by the Order of Engineers of Florence as the best master thesis in Information Engineering of 2023. From November 1st, 2023, she is a Ph.D. student in Information Engineering at DINFO, University of Florence. Her research activity is mainly focused on deepfake detection, i.e. the detection of synthetically generated images and videos, with a specific focus on a new emerging generative technique: the diffusion models.
